Who we are
Stelmont Painting (“Stelmont,” “we,” “us”) provides residential and commercial painting in Ottawa, Ontario and the surrounding area. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through stelmont.ca, by phone, by email and by text message, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

When you request a quote on our website
- Full name
- Phone number
- Postal code (optional), so we know roughly where the job is
- Service needed (interior, exterior, or both)
- Text-message consent (optional): whether you ticked the box that reads “I agree to receive service texts from Stelmont Painting: quotes, appointments, install updates, or product updates.”
When you call, email or text us
We keep the details you choose to share, such as your name, phone number, email address, the address of the job, and notes about your project, along with a record of our conversations so we can follow up properly.
When you visit our website
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request) to deliver and secure the site. We do not use this to identify you.
How we use your information
- To respond to your quote request and answer your questions
- To schedule and confirm estimates, walkthroughs and painting appointments
- To send service communications about your quote or job, such as appointment reminders and project updates
- To keep basic records of the work we have done for you, including warranty records
- To keep our website and systems secure, and to meet legal and accounting obligations
We only use your information for these purposes, or for another purpose we tell you about and get your consent for.
Text messages (SMS)
We send text messages only if you have given us consent, for example by ticking the optional box on our quote form: “I agree to receive service texts from Stelmont Painting: quotes, appointments, install updates, or product updates.” Ticking the box is not required to request a quote.

We do not share, sell, or rent your mobile phone number or your text-message opt-in consent to any third party for their marketing purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties, except with the service providers that send messages on our behalf, as described below.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to provide their services to us:
- HighLevel / LeadConnector: our customer management, website form and text-messaging platform
- Cloudflare: website hosting and security
- Microsoft 365: business email
These providers are required to protect your information and may not use it for their own marketing. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Where your information is stored
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. That includes responding to your request, completing your job, honouring our warranty, and meeting legal, tax and accounting requirements. After that, we delete it or make it anonymous. If you ask for a quote but do not go ahead, you can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Your choices and rights
- Access: you can ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: you can ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Withdraw consent: you can withdraw consent at any time, for example by replying STOP to our texts or by contacting us. We will tell you if withdrawing consent affects our ability to provide a service.
- Deletion: you can ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law.

Cookies
Our website itself sets few or no cookies. The quote form on our site is provided by our form provider (HighLevel / LeadConnector), which may set its own cookies or similar technologies to make the form work and prevent spam. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the form may not work properly if you do.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including reputable service providers, encrypted website connections (HTTPS), and limiting access to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if a problem occurs.
Children
Our services and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
